Ancient Bronze Dragon Monster D&D 5e (5th Edition)

  • Legendary Resistance(3/Day): When the ancient bronze dragon does not perform a successful saving throw and fails, it can change the outcome and make sure it succeeds instead.

  • Multiattack: The dragon gets to use its action, Frightful Presence after which it is followed by three attacks – one with a bite and the other two with its claws.
  1. Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.
  2. Claw: Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage.
  3. Tail: Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage.
  • Frightful Presence: Any creature of the dragon’s will (within 120 feet range of the dragon and aware of it) must complete a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw successfully or it will get frightened for a minute. The creature gets to perform the saving throw after each of its turns, the effect will end instantly on a successful throw. After the effect ends or the creature successfully performs a saving throw to end it, it then gains immunity to Frightful presence for the next 24 hours.

  • Breath Weapons(Recharge 5-6): The dragon can use one of the breath weapons cited below.

  • Lightning Breath:

The ancient bronze dragon breathes out lightning in a 120 foot line ahead of it with a width of 10 feet. Any creature that happens to be in the path of Lightning breath must make a successful DC 23 Dexterity saving throw otherwise it will take 88 (16d10) fire damage in case of failure and half the damage if it completes the throw successfully.

  • Repulsion Breath:

Repulsion Energy is exhaled by the dragon in a 30 foot cone area. Each creature that happens to be in the area of its Repulsion breath will have to perform a successful DC 23 Constitution saving throw. In case the saving throw performed by the creature fails, it will get shoved 60 feet away from the dragon.

  • Change Shape:

The dragon will take the form of a beast or a humanoid creature with a Challenge rating that is in the same range as its own and not exceeding its original rating. The dragon goes back to its true form in case the rating is higher than its own. The dragon also reverts back to its true form when it dies.

Any item or equipment carried by the dragon will be present on its new form(of the dragon’s choice) and carried by it instead. The dragon will still have its original Alignment, Hit Points, Legendary Resistance, Lair Actions, Hit Dice, ability to speak, proficiencies, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores in its new form that it acquired. The statistics and capabilities of the adult bronze dragon are replaced by the new form except any class features or legendary actions of that form.

Legendary Actions

The dragon can choose any of the 3 legendary actions from below for itself. Only one can be used at a specific time and only after another creature’s turn. Legendary Actions used will refresh for re-use on the creature’s next turn.

  • Detect: A wisdom(perception) check is performed by the dragon.
  • Tail Attack: The dragon uses its tail to attack.
  • Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions): The dragon flaps its wings aggressively. Any creature near 10 ft. of the dragon will have to take a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw successfully otherwise take 14(2d6 +7) inflicting damage and be knocked to proneness.
