The portal is like a circular opening that you can make 5 to 20 feet in diameter. That portal can be oriented in any direction which you choose and for the duration, the portal will be lost.

The portal has front and back on each plane of it where it appears perfectly. By moving through its front only travelling through the portal only possible. The portal anything does then it instantly transported to the other plane of the portal and appearing in the unoccupied space which is nearest to the portal.

The deities and other planer rulers would prevent the portals which are created by Gate 5e spell from the opening of their presence or it might be anywhere within their domains.

You can speak the name of a specific creature when you cast Gate 5e spell but the nickname and title don’t work. If that creature has stayed on a plane other than where you are on then the portal will open in the named creatures immediate vicinity and it draws the creature through it through the nearest unoccupied space on your side of the portal. But you will not gain any special power over the creature moreover it is free to act as the GM deems appropriate. But most f the time it might leave you, help you, or it might do attack on you so there would lot of uncertainty in it.
