Adult Brass Dragon Monster D&D 5e (5th Edition)

The Adult Brass Dragon stays in a desert den made from a ruin, canyon or cave network with hole to allow sunlight and air ventilation. It is wise and carries a lot of essential information helpful for the journey but only gives it out to you after a long and chatty conversation or gifting it.

Traits

  • Legendary Resistance(3/Day) – The adult brass dragon can choose to change its outcome when it makes a failed saving throw and choose to succeed in it instead.

Actions

  • Multiattack:  Adult brass dragons can utilise its action called Frightful Presence and then followed by 3 attacks – one to bite and the other two using its claws.
  • Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) piercing damage plus 5 (1d10) lightning damage.
  • Claw: Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) slashing damage.

  • Frightful Presence: The dragon can choose a creature that is within 120 ft range and has an awareness of it, the creature must then try to make a successful DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or get frightened for one minute. The creature can redo the saving throw at the end of its every turn, the effect will end after a successful throw. When the effect ends due to the end of its duration or the creature making a successful throw, the creature will become immune to it for the next 24 hours.
  • Breath Weapons(Recharge 5-6): The brass dragon gets to choose from one of the breath weapons below.

Fire Breath: The dragon will puff out fire in a 60 foot line in front of it being 5 ft wide. All creatures that are in the line of the fire breath have to take a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, if they fail they will get fire-damaged for 45(13d6) or half of it for a successful throw.
Sleep Breath: The dragon breathes out sleeping gas in a 60 ft conical area and any creature inside the area have to perform a successful DC 18 Constitution throw or become unconscious for the next 10 minutes. This effect will end as soon as the creature is inflicted damage or someone uses an action to wake it up.

Legendary Actions

The brass dragon gets to choose between 3 legendary actions given below. Only one legendary action can be used at once and only if the turn before it was of another creature. Legendary actions exhausted by the dragons are regained for use on its next turn.

  • Detect: The dragon performs a Wisdom(perception) check..
  • Tail Attack: The dragon makes an attack with its tail.
  • Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions): The dragon’s wings start moving vigorously and any creature that is near 10 ft. of the dragon will have to perform a successful DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 13(2d6 +6) bludgeoning damage and get knocked down.
